Discovered and developed right here at Posey & Son Nursery, LLC, the patented boxwood cultivar ‘BSPSN’, commercially known as the Stately Manor® Boxwood, delivers the dense, balanced growth habit landscapers and growers need. With large, glossy dark-green foliage and a naturally full form, this variety maintains a tidy, uniform look with minimal pruning — making it a low-maintenance favorite for both commercial and residential landscapes.

The Stately Manor® Boxwood stands out for its observed resistance to common boxwood pests including psyllids, mites, scale, and especially leaf miners, which makes it a dependable choice for long-term plantings. It thrives in USDA Zones 5–8, reaches about 5 ft. by 5 ft. at maturity, and propagates reliably from cuttings with strong rooting success.

Abstract: A new and distinct boxwood plant of unknown parentage is provided that originated as a chance seedling and/or mutation while growing in a grouping of 3,000 Buxus sempervirens liners originally planted in March 1992 near Hazel Green, Alabama. The new cultivar can be distinguished from other varieties of Buxus Sempervirens in view of its balanced and dense growth habit that is maintained with little pruning, full and thick appearance, and large dark green foliage. It appears to resist leaf miner infestation, even when adjacent plants of other varieties are infested. It is well suited for outdoor ornamental use under conditions similar to those in Northern Alabama
